Positive Reviews
positive:
A walk in the park...
Business travellers enjoy the hotel's location in Fornebu Park, as the large corporate offices on the peninsula are within a pleasant walk along the fjord. The pretty park setting also allows guests to run, hike, and swim. The train station, which offers an express route to the airport, and a bus stop are also within comfortable walking distance, and central Oslo is a 10-minute drive.
positive:
Quiet, modern rooms...
Many guests note that the hotel was built when the Oslo airport was nearby. Though it has been relocated, the hotel's triple-glazed windows remain, so outdoor noise is a non-issue. Many, but not all, of the hotel's 251 rooms have been refurbished, and these are widely described as modern, clean, and comfortable with smallish but nicely finished and efficiently arranged bathrooms.
positive:
Friendly, knowledgeable staff...
The staff are widely described as very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Many guests also enjoy the Super Breakfast Buffet, often commenting on the Scandinavian specialties alongside the usual, international offerings.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A trip back in time...
The rooms and common areas yet to be refurbished are often described as stuck in the 70's or 80's. Several guests have been mystified by the wicker bedroom furniture and disappointed in its overall condition, noting the carpets and other finishes also show wear and tear.
negative:
What's for dinner?
While most, but not all, guests find something to like at the breakfast buffet, the dinner menu is widely regarded as more limited. Some have also been annoyed by long waits in a nearly empty restaurant.
negative:
Bring a flashlight...
Several guests have noted that the lighting could be improved, in both the newer rooms and older ones. Others have been disappointed to find that none of the rooms are equipped with a minibar, though some offer a Nespresso machine.
