Positive Reviews
positive:
Very good leisure facilities
Perhaps the most appreciated aspect of the hotel was the leisure facilities that it had been laid on. Guests appreciated both the physical diversions of pool, gym and steam room, as well as the high-tech diversion of the extensive gaming room.
positive:
Great view from the restaurant
While the food came in for mixed reviews, no guest faulted the view from the hotel's penthouse restaurant. Guests who had a sense of place and history enjoyed being able to dine and look out over the almost mythical Bosphorus.
positive:
Those little free snacks
A number of guests mention that the staff put out small snacks, like Turkish delight, by reception, and elsewhere, for guests to sample. They found this to be a wonderful, and tasty, gesture.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Some way from the major tourist attractions
While the hotel certainly makes no claims of being in Istanbul's tourist heartland, many sightseeing guests mention that the location was a bit awkward for them. They needed to get a taxi to the main tourist area daily. Business people tended to be happier with the location.
negative:
Room service a bit weak
While staff usually come in for high praise, several guests seemed to have experienced problems with their room service orders. Food arriving late, cold, or not at all were relatively common complaints. Guests found they often needed to follow up on their order repeatedly.
negative:
Strange position of the TV's
Curiously, quite a few guests mention that the TV in their room was placed in such a way that it was not possible to watch it while in bed, a most frustrating experience.
