About Chrisanns Beach Resort
Chrisanns Beach Resort self catering apartments offers a good value, yet no less romantic base to unwind in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
The 32 privately owned apartments are spacious and air-conditioned. There is plenty of space to relax in the seating area and a fully-equipped kitchen to prepare meals. Each apartment has a private bathroom with bath and shower as well as a safe.
The highlight of Chrisanns Beach Resort has to be its pool area, leading down to its own private beach. Guests can alternate between the crystal clear waters of the pool and the golden Caribbean sands.
Stocking up on provisions or eating out is simple too, with a selection of stores, supermarkets and restaurants within easy reach.
The hotel is about a ten-minute drive from the centre of Ocho Rios and eight kilometers from Tartaruga. Ian Flemming International Airport is ten kilometers away.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Fabulous pool and beach
The main attraction for most guests at the resort is the pool area and the private beach. They while away most of their time either in the irresistible waters of the well-maintained pool or down the few steps to the sheltered beach.
positive:
Affordable alternative
Many guests agree that Chrisanns Beach Resort offers an intimate, calm and great value alternative to the madness of some of the huge all-inclusive resorts in Ocho Rios. You can prepare your own meals when you want and eat out at local restaurants when you feel like it. What's more, the size and layout of the complex helps generate a family or community feel, lacking elsewhere.
positive:
Exceptional staff
Guests seem to create close relations with the friendly staff, who they get to know on first name terms. They are eager to help and have a lovable attitude.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Twin beds pushed together
Some guests feel a bit aggrieved that their apartments don't have a double bed, just two twins pushed together. If they're not exactly the same height this can cause additional discomfort.
negative:
Not all apartments are the same
As the apartments are privately owned, the facilities and general state can vary dramatically. It may be down to pure luck if they are well-maintained or not. Ground-level apartments, for example, appear to offer easier access to the beach than first floor ones. Some guests may encourage you to stay away from the pool side apartments too as they can get noisy.
negative:
Poor Wi-Fi
A lot of guests have difficulty getting a Wi-Fi connection in their room. It seems you have to be pretty near the lobby to get a signal at all.
