Quite a few guests complained that the entire hotel smelled of cigarette smoke. Abjar Grand Hotel offers smoking and non smoking rooms, but some guests felt that even the non smoking rooms smelled as if they had been smoked in. Several guests also complained that they were put in a smoking room despite requesting otherwise.
