Negative Reviews
negative:
Children under 10 are not allowed
17 Burgate welcomes children as long as they are age 10 and above. This is unfortunate for those with young children but it assures a quitter environment.
negative:
Things can get noisy
The guest rooms located above the bar may be subject to noise from guests who are hanging out at late into the evening. If you are looking for a quiet stay, be sure to request a room well away from the madding crowd.
negative:
Lighting is a bit dim
You may find the lighting in the guest rooms to be a bit dim which can be problematic if you like a brightly lit room. This is due to the use of low-energy light bulbs in the house and dim light, unfortunately, just goes with the territory.
