The Halfway House is a traditional pub with three rooms situated in Blackwood, United Kingdom. It is set near the A472 road and Caerphilly Castle is 15 minutes’ drive from the pub. Guests loved the food served here in the pub. They have a huge list of interesting spread. The large and piping hot roasts were a hit amongst most of the guests. Many guests vouched for the delicious food and big portions served in the pub. The desserts too were mouth-watering.
The staff was very helpful and courteous. They were very warm and more than welcoming, and made each of the guests feel at home. Guests were especially impressed with the customer service team who were thorough professionals. While the kids enjoyed playing in the kids' playground, the adults enjoyed their glass of beer in the lovely open garden.
Rooms were clean and spacious. They had the required modern equipment like sky television, comfortable bed and tea/coffee maker. Rooms were well-decorated, which gave them a vey cosy look.
The water pressure in the shower was very slow making it very difficult to take a bath comfortably. The temperature of the water in the shower kept varying from hot to very hot. There was no soap or shower gel in the bathroom in spite of being advertised.
Most of the guests were very disappointed to find out that the Wi-Fi Internet was patchy. They could not even check their e-mails because of the slow connection.
Many guests felt that the breakfast should have been included in the room charges. Some of the guests also found the price of the breakfast to be quite expensive.
