positive:
Historic Hotel
This hotel is steeped in history, as the building was built in the 1800s and was used as a penitentiary until 1991. Because of this, it has very interesting architectural features which history buffs will love.
positive:
Out of the Ordinary Amenities
This hotel offers some cool amenities like bikes to ride around the bike trail, a free glass of champagne upon arrival, and for the pet lovers, a "yappy hour" with free food and drink for you and your pet.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Lobby is a Hot Spot
The lobby area turns into a popular nightspot that the public is invited to join, leading to a crowded and noisy lobby with non-hotel guests as well. Noise lasts well into the night and because of the courtyard style set-up, some rooms can hear it, and if you are coming back into the hotel late at night, you have to move through all of these people. A quiet nightcap is near impossible.
negative:
Housekeeping Issues
Guests say housekeeping can be improved. While everything is clean, they often forget to replace towels and have a hard time getting rooms cleaned in a timely fashion.
negative:
Rooms Need an Update
Guests say rooms seem unfinished, dark, and dreary. Carpets are worn and linens are outdated.
