Positive Reviews
positive:
Decent value for money
The majority of guests who brought up the question of value for money felt that they had received good value. Those attending games, or other big events at OSU, felt that the room rate here was not hiked up as much as some other paces.
positive:
Very quiet location
Many guests mentioned that their rooms were actually pretty quiet, despite the relatively central position of the hotel. They really felt they managed to get the best of both worlds, by getting a quite room in a central position.
positive:
Friendly and accommodating reception staff
Guests clearly thought highly of the reception staff. It was mentioned that they were friendly and welcoming, but it was the way they acted when things went just a little wrong, or a guests had an unusual situation to deal with, that really impressed.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Sugar rush for breakfast
Guests were generally unhappy with the breakfast. While the hotel doesn’t claim it is anything more than a simple continental affair, guests believed it was bad even by this limited standard. A more specific complaint was that it had nothing at all available for diabetics and those on gluten-free and low carb diets.
negative:
Some rooms in very bad shape
A worrying number of guests reported that their room was in very bad shape. The specific complaints ran from areas of paint missing to actual holes in the wall, but whatever the specifics the general impression was of a very much unloved and uncared for hotel room.
negative:
Standard rooms very small
Many guests were not happy with the size if their room. They felt that it was simply too small for two people to spend any amount of time in together without eventually getting on each others nerves due to the crowded conditions.
