Positive Reviews
positive:
Warm welcome
Previous guests have enjoyed the service offered by the staff at Mansfield Lodge. The welcome seems to be genuinely friendly and there appear to be no issues with the standard of the on-going service, aside from perhaps at breakfast time when guests mention that a few more smiles wouldn't go amiss.
positive:
Decent evening meals
While you won't be spoiled for choice when it comes to the menu here, guests do tend to find the evening meals are perfectly acceptable. Plus, guests often comment that they found the meals in the bar were reasonably priced.
positive:
Good value for money
Room rates at the Mansfield Lodge are typically described as reasonable. Thanks to free Wi-Fi, parking and breakfast, this hotel does present a viable option for any guests looking to stretch their travel budget further.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Basic rooms and bathrooms
Although generally considered clean and comfortable, the rooms and bathrooms are often described as basic. There are different options available but you could end up in a room with no en-suite bathroom or TV (and no Wi-Fi either).
negative:
Hot mattresses
A number of guests mention that they found the mattress toppers used in the hotel bedrooms made the beds feel very warm. Along with the lack of air-conditioning, this could present an issue during warmer weather.
negative:
Breakfast may disappoint
Previous guests often found the breakfast at Mansfield Lodge a little disappointing. The continental selection is good, as is the coffee, but those guests who opted for a cooked breakfast found these far less impressive. Poorly cooked and tasteless are among the comments from guests.
