Positive Reviews
positive:
Clean and well-equipped rooms
Although some guests found the rooms a little too compact and a few others found the decor dated, most describe the accommodation here as clean and reasonably comfortable. Rooms are also found to be equipped with a good selection of amenities.
positive:
Enjoyable breakfast
Previous guests have enjoyed breakfast here, often commenting that the food is of an excellent standard. The Cumbrian sausages appear to go down particularly well! Guests also mention that the service from staff was friendly and attentive.
positive:
Reasonably priced hotel
On the whole, guests are of the opinion that they have enjoyed good value for money here. The rates are found to be acceptable and reasonable for the standard of the rooms. Dining costs are also considered competitive and free perks such as parking and Wi-Fi offer further savings.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Guest lounge/bar may be closed
A number of guests mention that they arrived at the hotel lounge/bar to enjoy a drink only to find that it had closed early. Quite rightly, guests question why normal licensing hours are not adhered to. Not doing so makes the hotel seem more like a guest house.
negative:
Welcome packs sound negative
A couple of reviews of this hotel reference the tone of the language used in the welcome park. Whoever wrote it felt it more pertinent to open with information about the cost of breakages and the possibility of being asked to leave the property (if noisy) as opposed to useful info about breakfast. This gave guests a negative first impression.
negative:
Occasional issues
There doesn't appear to be any areas of significant concern here. Guests occasionally find the Wi-Fi a little slow although since others specifically say it is good, it seems that this is an infrequent issue. Another guest commented that no children's menu was available in the restaurant.
