Positive Reviews
positive:
Unbeatable beachfront position
In fact, lovely as the views out to sea and the convenience of being right on the beach were, several guests appreciated the proximity to the historical district even more. Guests clearly felt that they had the best of both worlds, with culture and leisure both so accessible.
positive:
Excellent value for money
A number of guests felt that, considering the amazing position, decent facilities and what they described as very reasonable room rates, all in all they had received excellent value for money.
positive:
Excellent restaurants and bars in the area
Guests felt that they were in the perfect spot when it came to dining and drinking. The hotel’s own restaurant, El Shrimp Bucket, has an excellent reputation in Mazatlan, but there are a number of other great spots within short walking distance.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Pool is very small
While guests did enjoy the pool, they mentioned that it was very small indeed. They seemed to feel that it was more a hot tub with cold water than a pool one would actually use for swimming.
negative:
No tea/coffee makers or fridges in the rooms
An extraordinary number of guests mentioned that they really missed having a fridge in their room. It seems they would have liked the ability to keep a few drinks cool so they could enjoy them in their room. Some also mentioned that there was no kettle or tea/coffee maker, so they had to go out each time they wanted a hot beverage.
negative:
No English language stations on TV
Considering the hotel’s popularity with American, and other English speaking visitors, guests were astonished to report that they couldn’t find any English language stations on their room TV. Those wanting to watch a bit of TV while staying will have to brush up on their Spanish.
