The hotel is tucked away in the picturesque Scottish countryside far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Guests enjoyed the picture-postcard views from their rooms of the private gardens and the surrounding mountains and said that they appreciated the peaceful and tranquil evenings. If you are looking for a relaxing countryside getaway and are a nature lover then you will certainly be in your element.

Guests were pleased to find that the size of the rooms exceeded their expectations as they had plenty of space to move around in between the furniture as well as to stow away their belongings. Many appreciated the original period features such as open fire places and the elegant furniture such as the 4-poster beds.

Meals are served in the impressive Octagonal Room which boasts stunning views of the surrounding grounds. Guests said that they thoroughly enjoyed their food which was said to be well-prepared using fresh local produce. The menus were described as extensive whilst the service attentive and professional.

The bathroom fixtures and fittings have been described as being dated and in need of modernisation. Guests objected to the old-fashioned electric showers which were described as being quite cumbersome to use and also rather weak.

Although many appreciated the peaceful surroundings, some guests who wanted to sample the local bars and restaurants found it inconvenient having to drive to the nearest amenities as there are none within walking distance.

Guests who wanted to connect to the Internet from their rooms were disappointed to find that the Wi-Fi signal was quite weak which meant they had to take their devices closer to the reception area where the signal was said to be better.
