Positive Reviews
positive:
Enjoyable dining
Dining at the Bedford Arms doesn't entirely escape criticism and there are some instances of a disappointing meal being served. That said, the majority of previous guests rate the dining highly. Sure, standards can slip occasionally but, for the most part, dining here seems to be an enjoyable affair.
positive:
Friendly service
Guests find the staff at this country hotel to be welcoming, friendly and generally attentive to the needs of their visitors. The team is often described as upbeat yet efficient, so it appears that you can look forward to good service here.
positive:
Beautiful garden
Previous guests have loved the garden, which seems to be one of the most appealing features of the property. There are several areas where you can sit and enjoy the sunshine. And if the weather isn't playing ball, there are some undercover areas and the staff can provide sheepskins and blankets.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Noise from functions
Although the rural area in which this hotel is located pretty much guarantees that traffic noise is minimal, some guests do mention that private functions can go on until late - until 3 am in one case.
negative:
Disappointing aspects of rooms
Feedback about the quality of the rooms is a little mixed. Many previous guests were happy but others found the rooms small and the decor a little tatty. Other reported problems include dead lightbulbs and a cleaning routine that is perhaps not as thorough as it should be.
negative:
A bit too pricey for some
A number of guests mention that they found the room rates here were a little pricey and also that the food prices were high. Your opinion will largely depend on what you consider value for money but at least some previous guests have felt they have not found it here.
