Positive Reviews
positive:
Location is convenient and entertaining
The vast majority of guests who've stayed here have approved of the hotel's location, mostly because it's a very short walk from Ikebukuro station where trains to other parts of Tokyo are plentiful and frequent. Having a really good selection of restaurants and bars so close by, as well as plenty of lively clubs, was considered a plus too.
positive:
Keen personnel are very accommodating
Cheerful and extremely pleasant, the friendly people working at this hotel seem to revel in their work. A great many non-Japanese-speaking visitors also liked the fact that, as well as being very enthusiastic, many of the receptionists here are able to communicate very effectively in English.
positive:
Accommodations are surprisingly roomy
A considerable number of visitors have remarked upon the size of the guest rooms here. Evidently, the accommodations in this hotel are a step up in size from those offered at most Tokyo budget hotels.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Smells smoky throughout
A number of guests have complained that the perennial smell of cigarette smoke pervades throughout the building. Something to keep in mind if you yourself are trying to cut down or quit.
negative:
Wi-Fi doesn't reach the upper floors
You may want to insist on booking a lower-floor room if you're looking to work online during your stay here: many disgruntled visitors have said the hotel's Wi-Fi just doesn't work above the sixth floor.
negative:
Windows are pretty redundant
Numerous guests have observed that the windows in the accommodations don't actually provide a view of anything or let in much in the way of natural daylight. Evidently, this is not the ideal place to admire the twinkling lights of Tokyo at night!
