Many travellers expressed positive views about this property's location in the heart of tranquil Trefriw village. Not only was it just steps from bus stops and amenities; but also it was a short drive from Llanrwst's railway stations. Being at the eastern edge of the Snowdonia National Park gave outdoors enthusiasts easy access to stunning backdrops for walking, climbing, cycling and fishing. Motorists appreciated the ample free parking and being just off the B5106 and near the A470 and A5 for uncomplicated access to north Wales's beauty spots and attractions.

    Warm welcome and appealing food

Reviewers were often glad to have chosen this accommodation as the personnel were polite, friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar were popular with locals. Diners frequently said they enjoyed tasty and reasonably-priced meals as well as indulgent puddings. The cooked Welsh breakfasts also won praise.

    positive:

    Clean, unfussy and affordable rooms

    Negative Reviews

    negative:

Some grumbles about en suite bathrooms

Some of the en suite bathrooms could have done with revamping to bring them up to a more modern standard, according to several critics.

    negative:

    Poor TV reception reported

Perhaps due to the rural valley location, there were occasional reports that there was a limited selection of TV channels.

    negative:

    Minor cleanliness and maintenance issues

Although the rooms were more than adequately comfortable and presentable for a shorter stay, some critics felt they could have done with further revitalisation to address items of tired-looking furniture or dim lighting. Several guests claimed they encountered stained bedding or patchy housekeeping standards.
