Positive Reviews
positive:
Convenient central location
The hotel is a short walk from just about everything: You are only minutes away from the beach as well as a variety of restaurants and shops. There's also a bus station close by in case you need to get elsewhere in Playa del Carmen.
positive:
Nice hot showers
The showers have plenty of hot water, so you'll be able to relax and get clean, irrespective of whether you want to start or finish your day with a hot shower.
positive:
Very reasonably priced
For the location, this is one of the best deals you're likely to find on a hotel. The area is very popular, so nearly anywhere you stay will be expensive. Yet by comparison, this hotel is an excellent value for the money.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Too much noise, not enough sound insulation
The rooms don't offer much protection from outside sounds at all - you'll be able to hear everything going on in the adjacent rooms or in the rooms above and below. The hotel's location (in the middle of the busy 5th Avenue area) also means you'll get lots of noise from outside.
negative:
Small rooms
The rooms are a bit on the small side, which may be problematic for those with large parties or lots of luggage. If you're tall, you may also find the beds too short to be comfortable.
negative:
Bad Wi-Fi
The provided Wi-Fi is often slow when it's working at all - and there are frequent issues with keeping it working. You'll have better luck connecting in the lobby than in the rooms. Still, if you absolutely need reliable Wi-Fi in your hotel, you are better off staying elsewhere.
