Negative Reviews
negative:
Looks can be deceiving...
The front of the building is attractively historical, and guests who stay in the "main" building generally find their rooms bright and comfortable, with traditional decor. However, the building has had at least two extensions built onto it over the years, and is considerably less attractive from the back, which is where most guests enter through the car park. Rooms in the "Sussex Wing" are generally described as "very worn-out" and guests report various issues with plumbing, heating, and odours.
negative:
Car troubles...
Several guests were put off, or later woken up, by the group operating a hand car wash service in the hotel car park, which is not monitored.
negative:
Hot and bothered...
Several guests note the hotel is not air-conditioned, and the area is too noisy at night to open the windows. Others were bothered by inconsiderate neighbours.
