Hotel Palazzo Paruta & Wellness Suites (Venice, Italy)

Guests at Palazzo Paruta found this to be a rather elegant hotel, with nicely decorated rooms in classical Venetian style, antique furniture and beautiful common areas like the green internal courtyard.

The hotel was found to be nice and close to St. Mark’s Square, but quiet despite this, and was handily located just a few minutes from the St. Angelo stop on the Grand Canal.

Breakfasts here were found to be a lovely experience, with very good, hot choices like crepes and eggs made to order, options for special diets provided and great service. The complimentary cup of tea and biscuits in the courtyard were also appreciated, although some found the term ‘afternoon teas’ a little misleading to British sensibilities.

A fair number of those who stayed at Palazzo Paruta found their rooms to be much smaller than they had expected, expensive for what they were offered, and at that, the hotel proved a little hard to find — but that is Venice.

The connection strength and quality of the free Wi-Fi in rooms was sometimes found to be very poor, so if you really need to get some work done, then perhaps request a room close to the router.

While some guests found the staff to be very friendly, and helpful with making plans and reservations, others had a completely different experience, finding the reception team in particular to be indifferent, unhelpful or unprofessional.
