About La Renaissance Dorchester
Situated in a great spot, close to both downtown Montreal
and the Bell Centre, La Renaissance Dorchester is an aparthotel offering simple self catering
accommodation to those who want to be close to the action.
Available rooms range from studios to two bedroom apartments. The studios feature kitchenettes, while the apartments feature fully equipped kitchens. They both have all the practical amenities you’d expect, from air conditioning to TV’s.
Reception is available limited hours and can assist with basic concierge services, laundry and other services. Wi-Fi is free of charge and available throughout the building, including the rooms.
While the building itself has no onsite restaurant or café,
guests shouldn’t be put off. Even if they do not want to self cater they will
not go hungry, since there are many great dining options in the nearby streets,
from poutine stands to elegant restaurants.
The Bell Centre is just 700 yards from La Renaissance Dorchester.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Excellent central location
This was far and away what guests most appreciated about the
aparthotel. It really is very centrally situated, and guest mentioned that they
could easily walk t anywhere in downtown Montreal
they cared o go. It seemed that many were headed to games or other events at
the Bell Centre, and found the location of the aparthotel perfect for this
purpose, being just a minute or two away.

Negative Reviews
negative:
A bit of a seedy feeling
While this might not be a very specific complaint, after going through many guest reviews the word “seedy” perhaps best sums up what guests found wrong with this aparthotel. They felt that the management were extremely lax and couldn't really be bothered one way or another. Also, there seemed to be some itinerant longer term guests staying in the same building that did not give shorter term guests the greatest confidence in the property.
negative:
Not enough beds for the number of guests
An extraordinary number of guests reported that the management could not even get basic things right, like having the correct number of beds for the number of guests checking in, right. There were reports of guests arriving late, only to find no beds or bedding for some of their party, leaving them with no proper place to sleep and very, very upset.
negative:
Check in typically a disaster
There were a near comical number of reports of guests being unable to check-in, because the person who was supposed to be there to check in was either not there, or there, but quite drunk and unable to do much of anything. Guests often needed to fight and struggle just to get the room keys to the apartment they had booked, and perhaps already paid for.
