Positive Reviews
positive:
The hotel is centrally located.
With its central location, this hotel is a good place to hang your hat, especially if you are in London for a few days. Just a five-minute walk to Baker Street underground station makes it a breeze to access the entire city. And there are dozens of great shops, restaurants, bars and clubs right outside your door as well as a plethora of popular sights that are within walking distance of the hotel.
positive:
This is a non-smoking hotel.
La Place is a non-smoking property which is great for those who don’t imbibe and can’t abide the acrid, stale smell of second-hand smoke.
positive:
A good value.
This hotel has a reasonable price point, especially considering the number of amenities offered here, which is great for central London. With the added savings you get from the complimentary breakfast, it takes the strain off of your travel budget, leaving you free to spend your hard earned money elsewhere.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Some rooms are small.
Some of the guest rooms at La Place are a bit small. So if you are travelling with more than one person, are tall, or need extra room to maneuver, be sure to mention this when you check in and ask for a larger room.
negative:
The lift is limited.
Although there is a lift here, it is small and only goes to the third floor. If you have low mobility, lots of luggage or small children in tow, be sure to ask for a room on the third floor or below when you book.
negative:
The place needs a facelift.
Some of the furnishings, especially in the guest rooms, are dated and beginning to show their age. Stained sofas, worn carpets and bathroom fixtures in need of replacement might not be aesthetically pleasing to some.
