Breakfast is good.
There's plenty to please most tastes. It's well presented and there are additional cooked eggs if you wish. The guest house is close to the river, so there are plenty of restaurants and ‘pubs' within easy walking distance. Also, of course, there's that 24-hour flow of teas, coffees and snacks ... ‘back home'.
positive:
Very peaceful.
This is a lovely, quiet location, but it's not ‘in the sticks'. It's quite easy to walk to many major places of interest. Actually, the strolls into the city are hugely interesting and enjoyable. No way are they anything of a disadvantage for most guests.
positive:
Lovely rooms and hosts.
Rooms are ultra clean and designed to be in perfect keeping with the building's historic links. Hosts are very friendly and accommodating. They pull out all the stops to ensure that you are happy.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A bathroom hike.
If you aren't in an en-suite room, it can be quite a journey to the bathroom. The other side of the same coin is that, if your room is close to the bathroom, you are aware of the constant traffic in that direction.
negative:
Limited access to assistance.
There isn't always someone around so, if you hit a problem outside ‘normal' hours, there's no-one here to help you.
negative:
Not a 'rosa' picture.
You can appreciate that, for the able-bodied, the walks into the city are an enjoyable part of the holiday. Elderly and those with restricted mobility will embrace an alternative view. Many of the rooms are spacious, bright and comfortable. ‘Rosa', though is a room that isn't all it's cracked up to be. Only book it if there's no alternative available.
