Positive Reviews
positive:
Superb Central Location
This is an excellent spot for business travel or those needing use of the train station. Airport travellers have avoided cab fare by utilising a short walk and train ride to the venue from the airport. You have access to a nearby gym and leisure centre and there is dining and a bar lounge on-site. Plenty of shopping, museums, tours and entertainment within a brief stroll. Breakfast is a decent spread offered daily for an additional fee.
positive:
Adequate Rooms
The hotel is undergoing a gradual refurbishment with some rooms still awaiting renovation. Larger suites may have had first dibs on the upgrades, as most are modern and chic with good showers and tasteful decor. Standard rooms are mostly adequate but quite a bit smaller and some may still have a few older items and an occasional non-working remote. Ask for a recently renovated unit for optimal accommodations.
positive:
Friendly, Helpful Staff
The staff are charming and efficient throughout and can be relied upon for top notch customer service.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Noisy Nights
Rooms facing the highway may experience increased traffic noise until late hours. Poorly adjusted window fittings substantiate this issue by allowing in a draft and additional street noise. Ask for a back-facing, newly-renovated room - and bring your earplugs.
negative:
A Few Foibles
Rooms that are still awaiting renovation could really use some love. Outdated decor, empty mini-bars, hard pillows, unwashed bedding, poor Wi-Fi connectivity and wall-mounted soap dispensers make these less than four-star quality.
negative:
Early Closures, Few Options
The dining options offer virtually nothing for vegetarians and menus are otherwise repetitive and boring. The restaurant closes at 9:30 pm with room service following suit at 10 pm, leaving late travellers roaming outside for a meal.
