Hotel Gaviana Resort (Mazatlan, Mexico)

The hotel is located right on the beach with beautiful panoramic views of the ocean and a long stretch of beach to walk along. Several bars and restaurants are within walking distance, including the on-site bar and nightclub. Mazatlan's historical center can be reached in 20-minutes by car. The Hector Guillermo Pena Tamayo Park can be reached within 30-minutes if you take the scenic route and walk along the beach.

The rooms have been described as spacious, clean and well presented. Some rooms also include a balcony and views of the ocean.

The hotel offers three restaurants to choose from and breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner are available daily. A freshly prepared buffet breakfast is also offered and you can choose to sit out on the terrace under the shade of thatched umbrellas.

Some guests commented that the resort is more suited for a party venue rather than a relaxed holiday. Guests complained that the music from the on-site bar and nightclub was very loud and played until the early hours of the morning. The walls and windows are not sound proofed and some guests had difficulty sleeping due to the noise.

Some guests commented that the property is showing signs of age and would benefit from refurbishment. Problems were reported with the plumbing, including leaking toilets and poor water pressure in the shower. Other guests felt that the rooms were sparsely decorated with outdated furnishings.

While some guests had large rooms with ocean views, other guests were disappointed, reporting that their rooms were small in size and did not offer views of the ocean.
