One of the things the hotel has going for it is that it is near the University of Michigan. It's also within driving distance of the Michigan Speedway.

A few guests mentioned that either they or their children did enjoy the seasonal outdoor pool. Others remarked that having a continental breakfast was helpful and appreciated.

Even guests who didn't care for the accommodations did mention that the staff does their best with what they have to offer. They're very friendly and try to make guests feel welcome at the hotel.

Not only does the decor looks tired, you also might have difficulty finding power outlets or getting decent television reception, according to some visitors. Furthermore, a number of guests stated that the whole location could just use a huge overhaul to bring it into the 21st century.

Many things within the hotel seem to malfunction. Visitors commented on vending machines that didn't work, doors that were loose, non-smoking rooms that smelled of cigarettes, peeling wallpaper, thin walls, busted A/C units, tubs that don't drain properly and musty carpets. In short, guests feel the property isn't very well maintained.

Guests complain of odors and just a lack of cleanliness within the guestrooms. They mention issues such as dingy bathrooms, cigarette burns in comforters, dirty sheets or sometimes no sheets on the bed. According to a number of guests, housekeeping is not a priority here.
