Positive Reviews
positive:
Very handy location for exploring
A great many guests loved the fact that this hotel is set within striking distance of must-see sights like the Sultan Mosque and Little India, and that there are plenty of markets, shopping malls and hawker centres nearby to explore. Having a metro station less than 500 metres up the road was also considered a big plus as it makes getting around the rest of the city a breeze.
positive:
Rooftop pool area is a big plus
A good sized outdoor pool to cool off in, a lovely tree-fringed terrace area to relax on and some truly wonderful views - and sunsets - to appreciate; it's easy to see why so many travellers rated the hotel's rooftop pool area so highly.
positive:
Lobby is very impressive indeed
It is fair to say the vast majority of guests who've stayed here have been blown away by the hotel's ornate and really rather grand lobby area. Clearly, the huge sun-like chandelier reflecting on the stylish black granite floor makes a mighty impression.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Service at reception isn't the best
Numerous disgruntled visitors have said they felt the level of service proffered at reception fell below their expectations. Inaccurate local knowledge and poor customer service skills were the most frequently highlighted issues.
negative:
Accommodations are pretty cramped
There's no getting away from the fact the super-snug guest rooms here provide very little in the way of available space. Very few guests appreciated the lack of storage space or the equally compact beds.
negative:
Soundproofing could be better
Many visitors have complained about the ease with which sound travels into the guest rooms from other areas of the hotel, particularly from the hallway and neighbouring rooms.
