Guesthouse Manor View (Whitby, United Kingdom)

Few frill and no spills here. The welcome is warm and friendly and the accommodation is unsophisticated but lacking nothing and it's spotlessly clean.

It’s unusual not to congregate in a dining room, but the way it works here is that breakfast is delivered to your room every morning. Continental in style, there’s more choice than you might have expected and it’s strangely relaxing to munch on breakfast without the regimentation of hotel living. It’s a good idea!

You might be forgiven for thinking that a small place like Whitby might not have a parking problem. Think again! Whitby is a really buzzing place with lots of shops, restaurants and bars. Parking is very difficult so the free spaces at Manor View are a welcome bonus.

If you want ‘flatness’ go to Skegness! Skegness is great … but North Yorkshire, generally, is hilly so it’s no surprise that, from the centre of Whitby, it’s an uphill climb to Manor View.

Access to the parking area is a bit tricky and once there, parking is ‘compact’ to say the least.

For some, chewing on a continental style croissant in the comfort of their room is perfection. Others, though, see breakfast as an excuse for a fry up and something substantial with which to start the day. If you fall into the latter category, you’ll be disappointed here.
