Positive Reviews
positive:
Breathtaking views over the gulf
Of course it had to be the incredible views across the Gulf of Sorrento, all the way to Vesuvius, that most impressed guests about the Grand Hotel. It was one of the main reasons guests booked here, and going by comments it seems they were certainly not disappointed.
positive:
Truly exceptional staff
Again and again guests complimented the staff for their professionalism and friendliness. But guests seemed to go beyond the usual compliments by adding that the staff showed enormous attention to detail when carrying out their tasks, indicating to the that they were in a true luxury hotel.
positive:
Close to Sant'Agata
The hotel was described as being on the outskirts of the lovely village of Sant'Agata. While a bit of a walk away, many guests did feel comfortable walking over there to find a great little café or restaurant.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Hair-raising drive into town
While not mentioned all that often it was pointed out that the drive in to Sorrento was just a little scary. The hotel has a shuttle bus that transports guests to and fro, but the road is a hair-raising pass and the drivers were said to be in something of a hurry.
negative:
Very slow Wi-Fi
While guests did not seem to have a problem getting a Wi-Fi signal and stable connection anywhere on the premises, they did say that it was very slow indeed, so only the most basic apps could really be run properly.
negative:
No in-room tea/coffee making facilities
It was mentioned that there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms, which a good many did miss. Of course drinks were available downstairs, but guests would have liked the ability to make their own with a minimum of fuss.
