The Durdans is a four-star Silver Award winning B&B located in the scenic seaside village of Mundesley. It is set on a huge ground within an area of outstanding natural beauty. There are seven individually decorated rooms featuring TVs, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms with designer toiletries. All the rooms also have upscale Egyptian linens. The Durdans is a smoke free property. It has a beautiful garden and a common sitting area with a selection of magazines. There’s free Wi-Fi in all the public areas of the B&B and complimentary on-site parking is available. There is a casual dining room overlooking the lawns. Guests can choose between cooked breakfast, full continental and a fish alternative. North Walsham is a 15-minute drive from the B&B and other towns and tourist attractions are also nearby. The beach is a 20-minute walk from the B&B.
Guests totally loved the breakfast at the B&B. Both the options of breakfast, either cooked with locally sourced produce or Continental, were very tasty and served in a nice, presentable manner. The ambience of the dining room overlooking the gardens was also liked by the guests.
Hosts of the B&B had a nice welcoming attitude towards all the guests. They were very friendly and cordial. Additionally they extended near perfect services said the guests, as they were always available and ready to help. They also gave the guests information about the locality around and places of interest.
Rooms in the B&B were clean and comfortable. All the rooms had upscale Egyptian cotton beds and linen and en suite bathrooms with designer toiletries. Moreover, there was a lot of storage space available in the rooms.
Many guests said that the en suite bathrooms were getting a bit dated. There was mould in the bathrooms, shower wasn't working properly, the bath panel was broken and there were similar such drawbacks. Even the decor was dated. Bathrooms are overall in need of some refurbishment.
The B&B is not located in an area that has good restaurants or pubs around. Thus, guests had to walk a long distance or take a vehicle to reach a restaurant, specifically for evening meals.
Signal strength of the Wi-Fi Internet was poor. Either it was very slow, intermittent or totally unavailable. Thus, guests faced problem with Internet connectivity.
